Early in her dietetics career, Christine Ovalle worked at a fast-paced metropolitan hospital in Brooklyn, NY where she fostered the nutrition care process from the ground up. She currently holds a clinical position at Morrison Community Living Schervier Nursing Care Center managing subacute/rehab, and long-term care floors.
Christine earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dietetics, Foods & Nutrition from Lehman College, a senior college of The City University of New York. She continued her studies at Marywood University where she completed her Dietetic Internship by working through various dimensions of the dietetic practice with a focus on critical thinking, time management and self-directed learning.
She is affiliated with several nutrition professional organizations throughout New York State; including an active board member of the Long Island Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (LIAND). This organization is made up of Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDN) and Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTR), who hold New York State Certification as Dietitian/Nutritionist (CDN).
Christine’s nutrition philosophy is one that focuses on a complete comprehensive analysis of the individual. Not only dietary intake; but lifestyle, disease prevention, and the principles of intuitive eating.
