When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is common for their lives to unravel. Lissette’s great passion is bringing healing to people who have been through a traumatic/stressful experience. She helps her clients, who include children, adults and families, to find healthy perceptions of themselves, strengthen their relationships in an effort to resolve their current stressors, and learn to navigate future stressors in healthy ways.
She knows that no single approach is the right one for every individual, and so she has received training in a range of modalities including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness treatment approaches. In addition, she has a strong background in substance abuse, psychiatry, psychopharmacology, trauma and crisis informed care. She is fully bi-lingual in Spanish and has access to and knowledge of community-based resources to assist her clients from a more holistic approach to treatment.
Her educational background includes a BS in Social Work and an MSW in Clinical Social Work from Fordham University in New York City. She has received her clinical license and “R” Psychotherapy Privilege from the NYS Department of Education-Office of Professions.
